Rock lies on the Camel Estuary with views across to Padstow and surrounding farmland. An established centre for watersports, it is close to safe surfing beaches and in the midst of fabulous walking country. There are cycle paths and riding stables near-by and the hotel adjoins the St Enodoc Golf Course.

The spectacular coastline has inspired many film makers and artists over the years. Popular TV series Doc Martin is filmed at Port Isaac which is also home to the sea shanty band Fishermans Friends who give open air performances in the town during summer.
